INSULAR HEALTH CARE, INC. (IHC) celebrated its 25th Anniversary last October 14, 2016 with a Grand Celebration at the Mayuree Ballroom of Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati.
The venue was transformed into a festive Filipiniana setting complete with Filipino inspired archways, murals and décor courtesy of Mari Hilario’s CreativeFiles, Inc. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the lively performance of the “Banda Kawayan” who welcomed guests and provided entertainment during the sumptuous dinner with their renditions of traditional and modern musical numbers using authentic local instruments.
The evening formally started with a welcome address by Insular Health Care’s Chairman of the Board and Insular Life Chief Executive Officer Ms. Nina Aguas. In her speech, she stated that “…we would like to share this special moment with the people and partners who have contributed to our success – our employees and sales agents, especially our corporate clients, our industry associations and of course our regulator. As we move onwards, my wish is for all of us to stay true to our legacy of commitment in helping our fellow Filipinos to be their silver lining particularly in their time of need and in this way, to become the leading and preferred HMO of choice in the Philippines.”
Present at the event were Mr. Luis La’O, Insular Life’s Chairman of the Board and Ms. Mona Lisa dela Cruz, Insular Life President and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Insular Health Care, together with the other members of Insular Health Care’s Board of Directors (Insular Life is the parent company of Insular Health Care). Also present were the past presidents of Insular Health Care, as well as the some of the company’s valued clients and sales agents and brokers.
Mr. Carlos da Silva, a former president of Insular Health Care and currently Executive Director of the Association of Health Maintenance Organizations of the Philippines, Inc. (AHMOPI) likewise congratulated IHCI for its reputation of building and maintaining the trust and confidence of its clients and partners over the years.
No less than the Honorable Commissioner Emmanuel Dooc of the Insurance Commission (IC) graced the event as keynote speaker, congratulating Insular Health Care in its mission to provide quality health care to all segments of the society. Commissioner Dooc has been at the forefront of the recent bill placing the HMO industry under the regulation of the IC.
For his part, Insular Health Care President Bobby Arroyo reported on the company’s unprecedented growth for 2016, likewise highlighting the major changes implemented this year. He cited the technological innovations to address the demands and fast changing needs of the healthcare industry, and the introduction of telemedicine that will provide faster and more convenient doctor-patient consults. In response to the current administrations’ “Change is coming”, Arroyo stated that at Insular Health Care, “Change is happening”.
The event was also the formal launching of Insular Health Care’s mobile app. AVP and Head of I.T. Mr. Jaybee Santos held a live demo of IMA or Insular Health Care Mobile Assistant for Android and IOS. IMA is designed to do member eligibility verifications, and provides prompt and easy access to numerous information such as member data and status, a search engine for accredited hospitals, clinics and the list of accredited doctors and their specializations, and other pertinent information for both the members and the providers.
Other highlights of the event were the presentation of service awards to Insular Health Care’s employees, with special mention to Ms. Myrna Seguban, Asst. Manager for General Services, who has been with the company since its inception 25 years ago. Also feted were Insular Health Care’s long-time clients, some of whom had been with IHCI for more than 20 years. The company’s medical partners at its head office clinic were also given due recognition.
On the lighter side of the event, Mr. John Paul Cayanan of Direct Sales and Ms. Grace Agunday of Accounting were adjudged Male & Female “Stars of the Night” for their authentic Filipiniana attire. And to cap the night of festivity, a duo of songs was performed by Ms. Henri Casimiro to the delight of all who attended.
Over the years, Insular Health Care remains committed to providing quality and cost-effective health care to Filipinos. It will continue to do so in the years to come!
