The 2016 AHMOPI Annual Convention was held last November 18, 2016 at the Henry Sy, Sr. Auditorium of St. Luke’s Medical Center, Global City.
This year’s theme was “The HMO Industry Under An Insurance Commission Regulatory Environment: Positioning For The Future.” All plenary sessions were anchored on the recent issuance of Executive Order 192, Series of 2015 putting the Philippine HMO industry under the Insurance Commission (IC) regulation.
This game changing development was welcomed by the nine (9) current AHMOPI members (Avega Managed Care, Inc.; Caritas Health Shield, Inc.; Cocolife Health Care; Health Maintenance, Inc.; Health Plan Phils.; Insular Health Care, Inc.; Intellicare (Asalus Corp.); Medicard Phils.; Pacific Cross Health Care, Inc.) as denizens of the industry aspire for greater performance standards and operational efficiencies.
The Insular Health Care delegation was headed by Mr. Roberto Z. Arroyo, President & COO together with its Management Committee and some Heads of Departments.
Key Executives from top players of the life, non-life insurance and allied industries gave their insights on government agency regulatory environment. Among the Moderators during audience discussions were Mr. Roberto Z. Arroyo, IHC President & COO for Mr. Wilfrido Victor E. Arcilla’s “Healthier Brands are Wealthier Brands” presentation. On the other hand, IHC’s AVP, Medical Director and Head of Medical Operations, Dr. Arturo C. Libao moderated for Mr. Victor DR. Tanjuakio’s portion on “Increasing HMO Capacity & Capability Through Reinsurance.”
