Insular Health Care (IHC) AVP & Medical Director, Dr. Art C. Libao went to Surigao del Norte and Roxas City last Dec. 1-3 and Dec. 12-14, 2016 respectively to orient existing providers and to accredit new doctors, hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers. It was in response to the company’s steadily increasing membership base that covers employees and their dependents in their branches all over the Philippines. With the company’s growth expected in 2017, IHC committed to increase its network of providers not just in major cities but also in regional and provincial growth areas.
Among the Surigao institutions he visited were Surigao Medical Center, Surigao Health Specialists, St. Peter Diagnostics in Claver, and Miranda Family Hospital. Dr. Libao personally delivered the letters of intent. The terms and conditions of the proposed MOA were discussed with the representatives of said providers.
In Roxas City, Dr. Libao signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Rev. Melvin Mangana, hospital administrator of Capiz Emmanuel Hospital (CEH). He also had an agreement in principle with Sr. Remedios Tidor, D.C., Director Shared Services & Finance of St. Anthony Hospital (SAH). Subject to the inclusion of three provisions in the MOA, Sr. Tidor assured Dr. Libao of its willingness to provide service to IHC members. Both CEH and SAH agreed to waive their cash bond requirement after Dr. Libao offered shorter turn-around-time, imposition of a credit limit, and suspension of services in the event of failure to meet contractual obligations.
For CEH, accreditation of doctors will be on an “umbrella” type basis, meaning all doctors credentialed to practice in CEH will be listed as IHC accredited specialists. For SAH, Dr. Libao appointed Drs. Mathilde Blasurca and Lilibeth Constantino as the adult and pediatric coordinators respectively.
He also oriented and discussed the accreditation process with Capiz Doctors Hospital, Medicus Diagnostic Center, and The Health Centrum Hospital (HCH). He met with Dr. Nestor Arrojado, HCH coordinator to strategize in forming the hospital’s team of specialists.
On his last day, Dr. Libao visited the CSB Roxas branch to receive feedback from its staff and to promote Medgate’s telemedicine services. Medgate provides 24/7 hotlines where enrolled members can consult with Filipino doctors anywhere, anytime.
